In schools, hospitals and care homes, a locked toilet cubicle can quickly become a problem. Someone may need help and staff can't get in, or a door is forced open and the lock, catch or door is left damaged. Burstcatch® is a toilet cubicle catch that keeps normal privacy, releases when real force is applied to the door, and then resets itself, so the cubicle stays in use.

- Emergency access. When a cubicle is locked and someone inside needs help, staff need to get in quickly.
- Damage from forced entry. Forcing a standard cubicle door usually breaks the lock or catch and can damage the door and jamb.

Installation

Frequently asked questions
Can staff open a locked cubicle in an emergency?
Yes. Burstcatch gives normal privacy, but in an emergency the door can be forced open without damaging the door or the toilet door hardware.
Do I need to replace my existing cubicle locks?
No. Burstcatch works with the original lock by replacing the catch. The indicator lock isn't included.
What happens after the door has been forced?
The catch resets and the lock works as normal, so the cubicle can be used again straight away.
Can our own maintenance team fit it?
Yes. Fitting instructions are supplied with the product, and an installation guide with videos is on our website.
